Well, it's finally here

We moved in a week ago and this time last week we had spent our first night in the new house. Still finding odds and ends and unpacking boxes AND needing to clear out the condo, but life in the new house is settling into something of a routine.

Moving day!

Last few days of been a whirlwind but the moving day is finally here! chaos ensues but we should be done by the end of the day so stay tuned for pictures and more!

11th hour kinks

Well, as luck would have it, this last round of inspections is creating a ton of last minute work for us, and the clincher was yesterday, when the County's ROW inspection produced the following to-do list:

pave the ROW approach, minimum 20' x 10'

cut out the pavement at the old driveway access that attaches to the existing road.

clear trees to the north of the driveway.  15' north of your driveway they want nothing above 4' 6" tall.

add straw to the uphill side of the old driveway.

After Tasha and I scoped the area last night, #3 and #4 should be no biggie but the contractor is scrambling to make #1 and #2 happen this week.

Last mile odds and ends

Mirrors and towel bars and other details are in place at last, and like real live homeowners we spread some bales of straw to keep the mud under control as the rains roll in. 

Less than two weeks and this will be home!

Tile delays continue to plague us and we are prevented from a move-in date until they are settled, but we have a winner for our fireplace at last!

Stains and details

Sounds like our tile is in Seattle today and will be in Portland by Monday, and all flooring and surfaces are slated to be done by Thursday the 25th. Getting close!'

More floors and some frills to boot

Floors have moved upstairs and should be finishing out today. Our master bath tile still hasn't arrived and the appliances are waiting to be installed (save for the microwave, pictured) but otherwise things are progressing nicely.
